Healthy Individual = Healthy Family = Healthy Nation

Our Central Church is a family congregation with a mix of young adults, scholars and community folk. Every Sunday morning for two services at 8:30 a.m  or 10: 30 am. We come together to worship and encounter God as one big family.  It’s truly wonderful to see the different expressions of worship coming from a variety of people experiencing God’s presence corporately, celebrating His goodness and being encouraged to go out and be His hands, heart and feet in the community. Children are not left out of these life changing Sunday morning meetings so if you have any, don’t worry about their age, bring them along to be part of our vibrant children’s church, which runs concurrently with the main service. We love doing life deeply during the week in our connect groups and have outreach activities at least once a month.

As a family church, we believe that healthy individuals make healthy families that will build a healthy nation and so we are all about discipleship. We make every effort to disciple people in the word, presence and power of God, ensuring that their foundations are strong, and trusting God for victory and breakthrough in their lives. Come and experience God’s transformational power with us as we worship and exalt Him on Sunday mornings.

Our Vision

We see a transformed society that advances the Kingdom of God through discipleship in the word, presence and power of God.

Our Values

Every group of people, organisation or, in our case, church has a set of values they live by as a corporate body.  Our core values are given below and our heart’s desire is to see people discipled in these values. We want every member to live by these Biblical values, become more like Christ and be equipped to disciple others in their sphere of influence:

Lordship

Because Jesus is “King of kings and Lord of lords,” we believe that whole-hearted submission to God’s will and His Word is the starting point of the Christian faith and the foundation of all spiritual growth.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him.” Colossians 2:6

Evangelism

Because God’s heart is to reach the lost, we are passionate about preaching the gospel and doing ministry in a way that engages people outside of the Christian faith. We seek to build churches primarily through evangelism—not transfer, through birth—not adoption.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

Discipleship

Because we are called to make disciples, our primary focus is establishing biblical foundations, equipping believers to minister, and empowering disciples to make disciples—not conducting meetings, facilitating programs, or building buildings.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19,20

Leadership

Because we are called to establish churches in every nation, we are committed to a culture of empowering leadership. We are intentionally multi-generational, and we deliberately create opportunities and platforms for next generation leaders to develop their leadership.

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2

Family

Because the family is the foundation and validation of ministry, we refuse to sacrifice our marriages and our children on the altars of temporal success. And because we believe God has called us to be a spiritual family, we embrace community, reject the idea of disposable relationships, and choose to walk in love, respect, and unity.

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain… Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Psalm 127:1,3

Intimacy with God

Intimacy with God leads us to desire to live our lives honouring Him in all that we do, worshipping and glorifying Him so that we can become like Him (2 Corinthians 3:18), carrying His presence in every aspect of our lives and ministry. It is important to be Christ-centred which means submitting every aspect of our lives under the Lordship of Jesus so that He is first in our affections and our ultimate authority.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4

Being Word-based and Holy Spirit inspired

We value teaching, modelling, equipping and discipling others in Biblical principles, foundations and living, that lead to the expression of the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe that our people must be committed to prayer, the prophetic and the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. It is through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit that we live in the victory and freedom of the Holy Spirit through our new nature in Christ.

Multi-generational

We spend time and resources on teaching and empowering all generations. High quality children’s church, youth ministry and university campus ministry are a priority for us. We value both old and young’s contribution to our Church community and fulfillment of our mission.

One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4

Multicultural

We believe that God values every ethnic group equally and that the Kingdom of God encompasses every tribe of people. From the Bible we learn that God is glorified when all people groups live in unity, worshipping Him; therefore we endeavor to live in multicultural community where all types of people are welcomed. Our public gatherings and organization reflect this value for multiculturalism through multi-ethnic worship and leadership.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb… Revelation 7:9

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing are fully inspired by God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

We believe that in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, God has revealed Himself and given us an authoritative disclosure of His character and will.

We believe in the sovereignty of the one God, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that human beings, though created in the image of God, are sinful and guilty and lost without Christ, and that this truth is a necessary preliminary to the Gospel.

We believe that Jesus Christ, as begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, is true God and true man.

We believe that Jesus Christ, as God incarnate, is unique and sinless.

We believe that on the cross Jesus Christ became sin for us, was judged by God and died in our place.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into Heaven, and His present ministry as our High Priest and advocate with the Father.

We believe that the Jesus of history and the Christ of Glory are the same Person.

We believe, because of the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that God freely forgives those who are brought to repentance and faith in His Son.

We believe that all who are justified by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We believe (i) in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, by which believers are empowered and equipped for service, (ii) in the gifts and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and (iii) in the God-given ministries of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.

We believe in the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal damnation of those who have rejected God’s offer of salvation in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the one true and universal Church consists of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local church should be the expression of the one true and universal Church and therefore that the new birth and personal confession of faith in Christ are essentials of Church membership.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed the two sacraments of baptism in water and the Lord’s supper, to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the Christian faith; that baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as confession of identification with Christ in His burial and resurrection, and that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the emblems, which symbolise the broken body and shed blood of Christ, in remembrance of His sacrificial death until He comes.

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.
